An ion exchange process is used when water needs to be treated for use in production facilities or when substances, including valuable ones, need to be extracted from wastewater.

The filter material used in ion exchangers, ion exchange resin, is a special synthetic resin-based filter material featuringwith different functional groups. The main difference between the various ion exchange resins lies in the type of functional group.
