Membrane processes

Membrane processes

Membranes for treating water or recovering recyclable materials can be used to selectively separate everything from the finest particles to dissolved substances.

The resource-saving way to treat, recycle and reuse water

Membrane processes for water treatment are constantly gaining in importance, for example when recycling water from wastewater. Because the growing scarcity of water and rising water costs could endanger production sites, advanced water treatment steps for reusing water are becoming increasingly common.

Depending on the task at hand, we also use some of our Envopur® membrane processes in combination with other technologies such as ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, electro-deionisation (EDI) and Biomar® membrane bioreactors.

Our experts work with you to identify the right plant technology for your individual needs in terms of water treatment, water recycling or water reuse– all the way up to zero liquid discharge (ZLD).

Typical applications

  • Boiler feed water treatment
  • Turbine water treatment
  • Condensate treatment
  • Cooling tower feed water treatment
  • Drinking water treatment
  • Water treatment for the operation of electrolysers for generating green hydrogen
  • Brackish water desalination
  • Process and drinking water treatment from vapour condensate
  • Process and drinking water treatment from biologically treated wastewater
  • Acid retardation
  • Acid cleaning
  • Lye cleaning / CIP lye cleaning
