Membrane processes

Resource-saving water treatment, recycling and reuse

In the past, membrane processes for water treatment were often only economically feasible in drinking and process water production, as an alternative to filtration and desalination. Now, however, they are becoming more and more important in wastewater recycling. Increasing water scarcity, rising water costs and the requirement to reduce water footprints are reinforcing this trend.

We use various Envopur® membrane processes depending on the task, sometimes in combination with other technologies such as ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, electrodeionisation (EDI) and Biomar® membrane bioreactors.

Our experts work with you to determine the appropriate plant technology for your specific requirements in terms of water treatment, water recycling, water reuse and even zero liquid discharge (ZLD).

Typical applications

  • Boiler feed water treatment
  • Turbine water treatment
  • Condensate treatment
  • Cooling tower feed water treatment
  • Drinking water treatment
  • Brackish water desalination
  • Process- and drinking-water treatment from vapour condensate
  • Process- and drinking-water treatment from biologically treated wastewater
  • Acid retardation
  • Acid cleaning
  • Lye cleaning / CIP lye cleaning
