Advanced Process Control (Biomar®)

Plant control with integrated user knowledge supports plant operations

Integrated expert knowledge of plant control supports operators by providing recommendations for action for optimal plant operations

In order to support the staff operating a Biomar® anaerobic wastewater treatment plant, we have integrated our expert knowledge into the plant control.

The values measured daily in the lab to check plant performance (including COD, organic acids) are used and linked to online values in order to generate recommended plant settings. These recommendations utilise both current data and trends from previous measurements.

The distributed control system calculates optimal target values for correcting variables, which are output at least daily in order to adapt the operation of the plant to the current conditions. The optimised control provided by Advanced Process Control enables the plant to be operated at optimal values, thereby increasing efficiency, preventing operating errors and optimising treatment performance.

The operator can enter the measured values and display the recommendations for action using a visualisation of the wastewater treatment plant, as well as via the WaterExpert® app on a mobile device.
