ACHEMA Innovation Challenge: winners announced

The hackathon for digital solutions for the process industry

The “MT DeepWater” team has won the ACHEMA Innovation Challenge in the category of predictive maintenance in water management, focussing on the topic of monitoring plant components for handling liquid media set by EnviroChemie. In addition to the prize money, the winning team will also have the opportunity to spend a day gaining an insight into EnviroChemie’s work.

In the ACHEMA Innovation Challenge, the up-and-coming researchers were asked to present digital solutions for two areas that are of great relevance to the process industry: artificial intelligence solutions from the KEEN platform and the challenge for predictive maintenance in water management with the MAIN hack.

In the “predictive maintenance concepts in water management” category, EnviroChemie and Evonik each presented a focus topic for the ideas competition. The two teams, “MT DeepWater” (Karolina Weber, Marcus Linden, Oliver Balster, Philipp Wittenhorst, Hermann Wilde, Aike Sass, Rahul Soni) and “Okeanos” (Juliane Neumann, Henning Oppel, Benjamin Mewes, Önder Türksoy, Jonas Bechmann) impressed with their concepts in the focus topic posed by EnviroChemie. They presented their concepts as part of ACHEMA Pulse on 15 June, where the winners were determined using a live poll.

The participating teams have provided valuable impetus with their ideas and concepts, which were subsequently examined on an individual basis and considered for possible applications.
