Two Projects Strengthen Industrial Water Management in Austria

Demand for high-performance solutions for industrial wastewater treatment continues to grow in Austria. Investments in modern environmental technology help to future-proof production sites and reliably meet increasing water and environmental protection requirements. With two new contracts in Styria, EnviroChemie is further expanding its activities in the Austrian market and supporting customers from the pharmaceutical and steel processing industries in modernizing their wastewater infrastructure.

Modernization of Wastewater Treatment for a Pharmaceutical Site

For an international pharmaceutical group based in Styria, EnviroChemie is modernizing an existing wastewater treatment plant for the treatment of fat- and emulsion-containing rinse water from production. The new Envochem® UFI plant is designed for a throughput of approximately 35 m³ per day and replaces an existing plant whose components have, in some cases, been in operation for many years.

The focus is on the reliable treatment of rinse wastewater with elevated levels of fats and emulsions prior to indirect discharge into the public sewer system. The plant concept is based on ceramic ultrafiltration and, in addition to several buffer tanks, includes an integrated CIP cleaning system for automated membrane maintenance. The aim of the project is to ensure reliable, economical and resource-efficient wastewater treatment over the long term while maintaining high plant availability.

New Wastewater Treatment Plant for Wuppermann Austria GmbH

For Wuppermann Austria GmbH, EnviroChemie is implementing a new chemical-physical wastewater treatment plant for the treatment of process wastewater from steel processing. The continuous-flow Envochem® COL HD plant is designed for a throughput of up to 120 m³ per day and treats the wastewater for indirect discharge. The process concept includes coagulation, heavy metal precipitation, neutralization, flocculation, sedimentation and filtration. The focus is on reducing heavy metals and removing hydrocarbons as well as other relevant wastewater parameters. The plant is complemented by a chamber filter press for sludge dewatering, final effluent monitoring and an integrated wastewater cooling system to reliably meet the required discharge conditions.

Different Industries, Common Goal

Whether membrane-based treatment of pharmaceutical wastewater or chemical-physical treatment of process wastewater from steel processing, both projects pursue the same goal: the reliable and economical long-term treatment of industrial wastewater.

With these two contracts, EnviroChemie underlines its expertise in the planning and implementation of customized plant concepts for demanding industrial wastewater treatment applications in Austria.
