A German-based, globally operating pharmaceutical group with activities in life science, healthcare and electronics has commissioned Envirochemie to to construct, deliver, install and commission a plant for treating contaminated groundwater as part of a remediation project. EnviroChemie had previously completed the planning contract.
To secure the groundwater supply, water contaminated with arsenic and hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) is collected via dedicated remediation wells. The newly built pre-treatment plant treats the groundwater so that it reliably meets the specified discharge values and can be fed into the existing plant wastewater treatment system.
The plant comprises several process stages: oxidation, multi-layer filtration, arsenic adsorption filtration and activated carbon filtration from the EnvochemĀ® product range. This system is supplemented by a ceramic EnvopurĀ® ultrafiltration plant from EnviroChemie's sister company Cembrane (SKion Water) for the optimal treatment of the rinse water from the previous filtration stages.
The plant is scheduled to be built and commissioned in 2026.
