Solution
To manage and balance the fluctuating wastewater streams, whose volume and composition vary as a factor of production processes, EnviroChemie initially implemented an oil separator and catch basin with neutralization capabilities, designed to handle 120 m³ of wastewater a day. Once the pH value has been checked, the wastewater is discharged into the sewer system.
Three years later, a scale-up in production meant that the water technology needed to be upgraded again. EnviroChemie supplied a Lugan® 15.000 flotation system for the physicochemical treatment of 250 m³ of wastewater per day, housed in the EnviModul technical room. The fully automated system is very easy to operate.
In response to yet another production scale-up a few years after this, EnviroChemie upgraded the water technology to a total capacity of up to 1,000 m³ of wastewater per day. To achieve this, the plant was upgraded with a 700 m³ aerated balance tank, which balances the fluctuations in pollutant levels in the production wastewater. The Lugan® 15.000 flotation system continued to treat the wastewater, consistently meeting the regulatory limit values for pH levels and lipophilic substances.
In a fourth scale-up stage, a Flomar® pressure release system for wastewater treatment was installed, having become necessary to replace an outdated rental system. The installation of the new plant also increased the overall operating reliability and capacity of the wastewater treatment plant.
EnviroChemie experts have optimised the water treatment products for the upgraded wastewater treatment system to lower consumption levels and operating costs. The sludge generated by the wastewater treatment process is handled externally.
