In PET bottle fillers before aseptic filling the bottles are disinfected by means of an antiseptic solution and are rinsed afterwards using purified water. This rinsing water, which is contaminated with a little disinfectant is recycled by means of the membrane system type Envopur® NUO. In this process the dissolved salts in the rinsing water after conditioning as well as the chemically changed disinfectant are rejected by the membranes. The water passing the membranes is the high-quality purified water (permeate), which is fed back to the rinsing buffer tank. Only small amounts of water being drained as concentrate are replaced by soft water (softened fresh water). In this way the consumption of rinsing water is extremely reduced.
