Resource recovery out of hazardous waste
EnviroChemie was commissioned to deliver this plant. EnviroChemie’s experience in the treatment of exhaust gas scrubbing effluents from household and hazardous waste incinerators was a deciding factor for the client.
The plant contains two steps with a hydraulic capacity of 30 m3/h.
The first step consists of the processes:
- cooling the waste water
- separation of solids
- neutralization
- molybdenum selective ion exchanger
Up to 6’000 kg of sodium molybdenum solution are recovered daily and reused.
The second step consists of the processes:
- pH-correction
- heavy metal selective ion exchanger
These processes allow the separation of ions like zinc, copper, nickel and lead. The concentration of such materials must be less than 0.05 mg/l in order to meet the strict specifications for water to be fed directly back into the environment. The specially developed plant achieves this standard with a series of three ion exchangers.
