Envochem® COL 20.000 Pre-Treatment of Waste water from production of expanded plastics

of the Karoon Joint Venture Company, near the Persian Gulf, IRAN

Description of the plant:

In an industry area located near to the Persian Gulf next to the Iraqi border plastics are produced (TDI-Plant). Due to these production steps bio-toxic and not bio-degradable waste water arises. Before dumping the waste water into the biological treatment plant, a pre-treatment is necessary. The aim of the pre-treatment is to crack these bio-toxic and not bio-degradable substances and dissipate them to not bio-toxic or bio-degradable compounds. The pre-treatment is the scope of delivery of the company EnviroChemie.

The waste water treatment plant Envochem® COL is designed for an automatic and continuous operation. During the design of the plant the special climatic conditions and the high safety standard of a chemical industry are considered.
The water is treated by the following treatment steps:
  • waste water buffering and cooling
  • two-step oxidation process with Fenton?s Reagent
  • neutralisation
  • flocculation
  • sedimentation
  • sludge dewatering to reduce the sludge volume
  • elimination of the exhaust air of the various tanks
