Treatment plant for effluence from paint production

Deutsche Amphibolin-Werke von Robert Murjahn GmbH & Co. KG (Caparol) Ober-Ramstadt, Germany

The production of paints causes waste water which arises while cleaning the production vessels and floors. The waste water’s essential constituents are dispersion paints, varnish, plast as well as cognate products.
After having passed a prelimery sieve the waste water is stored within stirred buffer vessels which charge the continuously working treatment plant type Split-O-Mat® COL in a level controlled manner. The following chemicals are dosed proportionally and pH-controlled within the three treatment steps coagulation, neutralization and flocculation: ferric chloride, lime-milk and flocculents.
The treatment step “flocculation” is controlled by a video camera in order to enable checking the result in the central control room via screen.
The mix of slimes and water is then separated within the sedimentation. The precipitated thin slurry is dehydrated by a chamber filter press after having been intermediately stored. The remaining clarified water is discharged to the final control via a multi-layered filter where possibly still existing microflakes are eliminated.
